100 năm qua, người Công giáo đã cử hành Tháng Mười là Tháng Mân Côi. Việc
sùng kính này đã được ĐGH Leo XIII (1810-1903) thiết lập ngày 1-9-1883 và đã
công bố con số kỷ lục là 11 Tông thư về Chuỗi Mân Côi trong triều đại giáo
hoàng của ngài.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Việc dành riêng Tháng Mười là Tháng Mân Côi mời gọi chúng
ta thêm siêng năng lần Chuỗi Mân Côi, không chỉ trong Tháng Mười mà suốt cả
năm và suốt cả đời.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Ngày 7 tháng 10, chúng ta mừng lễ Đức Mẹ Mân Côi. Lễ này
được Thánh GH Piô V thiết lập để ghi nhớ chiến thắng của Hải quân Kitô giáo
đối với quân Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ tại trận Lepanto ngày 7-10-1571. Chiến thắng này nhờ
người ta lần Chuỗi Mân Côi dâng kính Đức Mẹ ở Rôma vào ngày giao chiến.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Theo thời gian, không còn ai nhớ rõ nguồn gốc. Việc lần
chuỗi hạt là thói quen xưa trước thời kỳ Kitô giáo, nhưng người Công giáo đã
dùng Chuỗi Mân Côi hằng thế kỷ qua. Mới đầu, người ta gọi là “những hạt kinh
Lạy Cha” vì người ta dùng để đếm 150 kinh Lạy Cha (Paternosters). Một số
người cho rằng 150 kinh Lạy Cha được thay thế bằng việc ngâm 150 Thánh vịnh
cho những ai không đọc.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Truyền thuyết đạo đức này được cho là nguồn gốc của Chuỗi
Mân Côi như chúng ta biết là “công” của Thánh Đa Minh (Dominic), nh<span lang="VI">ưng
không có dữ liệu nào xác định truyền thuyết này. Tuy nhiên, đó là một tu sĩ
D</span>òng của Thánh Đa Minh, người thiết lập 15 Lời Hứa Mân Côi từ thế kỷ
XV, và một tu sĩ Dòng Carthusia là Đa Minh Prussia đã thêm phần suy niệm vào
kinh Kính Mừng. 15 mầu nhiệm truyền thống được Thánh GH Piô V tiêu chuẩn
hóa.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Kinh Mân Côi là lòng sùng kính Đức Mẹ, thể hiện truyền
thống Công giáo tin Đức Mẹ là Đấng dẫn đường đến với Chúa Giêsu như câu
chuyện tiệc cưới Cana (Ga 2:8), Đức Mẹ đã nói với gia nhân “làm theo lời
Chúa Giêsu bảo”.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Vẻ đẹp của kinh Mân Côi gấp đôi. Thứ nhất là tính đơn
giản, thứ nhì là dẫn chúng ta đến với Chúa Giêsu qua các mầu nhiệm của cuộc
đời Ngài, cuộc khổ nạn và sự phục sinh của Ngài. Chuỗi Mân Côi đã và đang
theo vô số người trên hành trình đến với Chúa Cha.</font></td></tr><tr><td><p align="center"> </td></tr>
