thuyết người Do Thái có kể câu chuyện như sau. Beneiah là vị quan vốn
thường hãnh diện cho rằng ông sẽ chu toàn mọi nhiệm vụ mà nhà vua giao
phó. Nghe như vậy, vua Solomon ra lệnh cho quan Benaiah trong vòng sáu
tháng, ông phải tìm cho nhà vua một chiếc nhẫn thần vừa có khả năng làm
cho ai mang nó vừa cảm thấy mình hạnh phúc và cũng cảm thấy mình đau
buồn. </font></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 120%; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<span style="line-height: 120%"><font face="Arial">Dù là người rất tài
giỏi, Benaiah cảm thấy lo âu vì làm sao có thể tìm chiếc nhẫn nào vừa
làm cho người ta hạnh phúc và đau buồn được! Thời gian thấm thoát trôi
qua, Benaiah miệt mài bôn ba tìm kiếm chiếc nhẫn thần khắp mọi nơi mà
cũng không nghe ai nói là có chiếc nhẫn thần như vậy. Ngày qua ngày,
Benaiah càng hiểu rằng mạng sống của mình sắp bị lấy đi, vì không thể
tìm cho nhà vua chiếc nhẫn thần được. Cuối cùng, khi đang ngồi nghỉ chân
trong quán nước, ông chia sẻ câu chuyện này với người chủ quán nhằm tìm
sự cảm thông và trút bớt phần nào nổi phiền muộn lo sợ trong lòng ông.

<span style="line-height: 120%"><font face="Arial">Nghe xong câu chuyện,
ông già chủ quán thưa lại. <i>“Tôi có chiếc nhẫn mà ông đang kiếm tìm.”</i>
Nghe vậy, Benaiah sáng mắt và quì xuống van xin được mua lại chiếc nhẫn
đó với bất kỳ giá nào. Ông già đáp, <i>“Tôi không bán, nhưng tôi chỉ
tặng vì dù giá trị nó có lớn lao bao nhiêu đi chăng nữa, nó cũng sẽ qua
đi.”</i> </font></span></p>

Benaiah chiếc nhẫn, chiếc nhẫn thần rất đẹp với hàng chữ: </font><i>

<span style="line-height: 120%"><font face="Arial">Hôm sau, Benaiah
trình nhà vua với chiếc nhẫn, nhà vua hoan hỷ và trọng thưởng cho
Benaiah. Cầm chiếc nhẫn trên tay, niềm vui hiện rõ trên khuôn mặt của
nhà vua, nhưng khi đeo chiếc nhẫn thần vào, nhà vua thấy hàng chữ: <i>
“Cũng vậy, nó cũng sẽ qua đi”</i> điều này làm cho nhà vua buồn, vì ông
hiểu rằng, chính địa vị của ông, vương quốc của ông, danh tiếng của ông
rồi cũng sẽ qua đi như hàng chữ trên chiếc nhẫn nhắc nhở: </font><i>

chuyện trên cho chúng ta thấy rằng không có gì là bất biến vĩnh hằng
trong kiếp nhân sinh. Niềm vui hay nỗi buồn, giàu sang hay nghèo hèn,
được tán dương hay bị khinh chê,… Cũng vậy, tất cả chúng cũng sẽ qua đi.
Thông điệp <i>“Cũng vậy, nó cũng sẽ qua đi” </i>là một thông điệp đơn sơ
nhưng hùng hồn để nhắc nhở chúng ta về sự thật của cuộc đời. </font>

người, nhiều người thường trải qua hai giai đoạn suy nghĩ đối lập nhau.
Những <b>người trẻ tuổi</b> nhìn cuộc đời như bất biến, vĩnh hằng. Họ
tin rằng sức khỏe, sắc đẹp, và sức sống của mình sẽ mãi mãi không thay
đổi. Ngược lại, đối với những <b>người lớn tuổi</b>, họ âu lo, sợ hãi
cho sức khỏe, cho sắc đẹp của mình; cuộc đời không còn là bất biết vĩnh
hằng như họ đã từng suy nghĩ như trước đây. Như vậy, thái độ nào là hợp
lý và giúp ta nhận ra giá trị thật khi ta quan sát cuộc đời? Xin thưa,
có thể nói rằng thái độ hợp lý đó là trân trọng giây phút hiện tại nhưng
không bám víu vào chúng. Nói cách khác, sống trân trọng tức là sống từng
giây phút hiện tại với tất cả khí lực của tuổi trẻ. Mỗi giây phút hiện
tại dẫn ta đi vào hành trình khám phá giá trị con người. Mỗi giây phút
hiện tại cũng đẩy lùi những bám víu vào quá khứ, dù là những giây phút
huy hoàng hay xót xa cho những lầm lỗi. Và cũng chỉ có giây phút hiện
tại mới thực sự giúp ta xây dựng tương lai cho đời ta một cách thực
nhất. </font></span></p>
