chào đời năm 1245 tại San Angelo, quận Marche thành Ancona (Ý Đại Lợi).
Cha mẹ người không có con đã đi hành hương tại đền thánh Bari, Ý Đại Lợi
để cầu xin Thánh Nicholas ở Myre ban cho một đứa con. Để tạ ơn thánh
nhân đã ban cho một đứa con, đã đặt tên người là Nicholas.<img border="0" src="../PICTURES/Thánh%20Nicholas%20Tolentino.gif" width="231" height="303" align="left" hspace="8" vspace="8"></span></p>

<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif">Từ nhỏ đã
tỏ ra thật nhân đức. Vào dòng Augustine năm 18 tuổi và là học trò với
Chân Phước Angelus de Scarpetti tại Recanati và Macerata. Chịu chức linh
mục năm 1270. Người được thị kiến các thiên thần hát câu “đến Tolentino”
coi đó là dấu chỉ để chuyển về Tolentino năm 1274.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif">Người ăn
chay hãm mình mỗi tuần 4 ngày với bánh khô và nước lã, cầu nguyện cho
các linh hồn nơi chốn luyện hình và thăm viếng tù nhân và kẻ nghèo.
Người trãi qua một cơn đau liệt nhưng được khỏi nhờ ăn một thứ bánh
nhúng vào nước lã sau khi cầu nguyện cùng Đức Mẹ do một thị kiến Mẹ
Maria cùng hai thánh Augustin và Monica truyền dạy. Vì thế có tục lệ làm
phép bánh thánh Nicholas cho người bệnh cho đến ngày nay tại Đền Thánh
kính thánh nhân tại Tolentino.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif">Người qua
đời sau cơn bệnh lâu dài ngày 10 tháng 9 năm 1305. Thánh tích của người
tại Tolentino được tìm thấy năm 1926 và máu đã rịn ra vào những khi Giáo
Hội gặp cơn nguy biến. Được Đức Giáo Hoàng Eugène IV tôn phong hiển
thánh vào Lễ Chúa Thánh Thần hiện xuống ngày 05 tháng 6 năm 1446, sau
hơn 300 phép lạ được công nhận do lời cầu bầu của người. Người được giáo
dân rất sùng kính.</span></td>
