<span style="font-size: 12.0pt">Bartôlômêô là một trong số 12 tông đồ
của Chúa Giêsu quê tại Cana. Theo truyền thống thì chính ngài là
Natanael đã được Philipphê dẫn tới gặp Chúa (Gio I, 45-50) và được Chúa
khen: "Ðây là người Israel chân chính không có gì xảo trá". </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<span style="font-size: 12pt">Sau ngày lễ Chúa Thánh Thần Hiện Xuống,
ngài được sai giảng Phúc Âm tại miền Lycôni, Ấn Ðộ và Arménie. Nhờ tài
ăn nói hùng biện, lòng đạo đức và những phép lạ của ngài, nhiều người
ngoại đã từ bỏ tà thần trở về với Thiên Chúa. Ngài cũng đã trừ quỷ cho
nhiều người, đặc biệt là công chúa của vua Polêmon và giúp cả gia đình
nhà vua theo đạo.</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt"><br>

thấy thế ghen tức và âm mưu làm hại ngài bằng cách vu cáo với vua
Attiges để ra lệnh hành hạ ngài bằng đủ mọi cực hình và cho trảm quyết
ngài vào năm 52. </span></td>
