<font size="4">Thánh Cả Giuse là một Ðấng Thánh vạn năng. Hội Thánh cầu
xin Mẹ Maria là Mẹ cứu kẻ liệt kẻ khốn, Salus infirmorum, thì cũng kêu
xin Thánh Cả Giuse là Hy vọng của người bệnh nạn, làm cho kẻ liệt lào
được cậy trông, Spes aegrotatium. Mấy mẫu chuyện nhỏ được kể lại thật

<font size="4">Một nữ tu thuộc giáo phận Valence, nước Pháp, mới có ba
mươi tuổi, danh hiệu là Sainte-Odile, mắc bệnh tê liệt tứ chi, lại thêm
đau dây thần kinh đầu, nặng đến nỗi dì không hé được hàm răng ra, không
nói được một lời, không ăn được một miếng. Thấy dì lâm trọng bệnh như
vậy, bà bề trên ra lệnh cho nhà dòng làm một tuần chín ngày kính Thánh
Cả Giuse cầu cho dì.</font></p>

<font size="4">Ðến ngày thứ sáu trong tuần chín, gặp ngày thứ tư trong
tuần lễ, dì Sainte-Odile, trước hết, rơi vào một cơn hấp hối khổ sở; sau
đó, dì nghe có tiếng gọi tên dì ba lần. Cùng lúc đó, dì cảm thấy có thể
đứng lên không cần cố gắng, và không thấy mình còn đau đớn gì nữa. Dì
vội vàng chạy đến gặp bà bề trên. Thấy dì vào phòng mình quá đột ngột và
quá khỏe mạnh, bà bề trên ngỡ là ai đó từ đời sau hiện về. Tiếp đó, dì
đi tham gia ngay mọi việc trong cộng đồng.</font></p>

<font size="4">Ngạc nhiên hơn hết là ông bác sĩ nhận điều trị dì. Ông
không sao hiểu nổi khi nhìn thấy dì vui vẻ, lanh lẹ ngoài sân chơi, giữa
các chị em khác.</font></p>

Thánh Cả Giuse ban. Từ đó dì lại tiếp tục sống đời tu trì, hăng hái chu
toàn mọi bổn phận.</font></p>

<font size="4">Tại giáo phận Montpellier, cũng thuộc nước Pháp, có một
cậu nhỏ nọ, từ nhỏ đã có lòng tôn sùng đặc biệt và hết sức cậy trông
Thánh Cả Giuse. Cậu được Thánh Cả giúp thoát khỏi một tai nạn thảm khốc.
Cậu đã tự tay viết lại chuyện ấy, mà chúng tôi xin dịch lại như sau:</font></p>

<font size="4">“Tôi đang đùa chơi ở một góc phố, thì một chiếc xe chạy
đến ép tôi vào tường. Toàn thân tôi bỗng nhiên chỉ còn là một đống vô
hình thể. Tôi bị ngộp thở. Lương y không còn hy vọng gì chữa được tôi
nữa. Lúc đó, cha mẹ tôi quá thất vọng, vội vã mời một linh mục đến ban
phép xức dầu bệnh nhân cho tôi. Một dì phước rất có lòng sùng kính Thánh
Cả Giuse, gửi cho tôi một dây phép của Thánh Cả. Tôi sung sướng nhận đeo
dây vào người, và hết lòng tin cậy ở sự phù hộ của Ðấng Cha Ðồng Trinh
vinh hiển của Chúa Giêsu.</font></p>

thấy Thánh Cả Giuse đến nói quyết chắc là tôi sẽ khỏi nạn. Thánh Cả còn
báo cho tôi biết là sau này tôi sẽ làm linh mục. Tôi thức dậy tràn trề
vui mừng. Tôi đem kể giấc mơ ấy với mẹ tôi. Giấc mơ ấy đã thực hiện: tôi
đã hoàn toàn bình phục, và ước ao lớn lên sẽ làm linh mục...”</font></p>

<font size="4">“Em bé Lucien Chevalier mới lên năm tuổi rưỡi, bị mắc
chứng bệnh yết hầu thanh quản nặng. Ðã mấy ngày nay tôi vẫn đến thăm em.
Tôi ái ngại nhìn căn bệnh cứ một ngày một tăng lên kinh khủng.</font></p>

<font size="4">Em Lucien vốn là học sinh trường tôi dạy. Tôi rất yêu quí
em, sáng chiều tôi hằng hỏi thăm về bệnh trạng của em. Ngày mồng chín
tháng sáu, bệnh trạng em trở nên thất vọng. Mười một giờ hôm ấy, tôi lại
đến thăm. Cả gia đình em quây quần chung quanh em mà khóc. Chính tôi
cũng không có hy vọng gì điều trị được em, nên cũng không nói được với
gia đình em là phải trị liệu cách nào. Vào khoảng ba giờ chiều, gia đình
em cho mời tôi phải đến mau để đọc kinh cầu nguyện cho em vào giờ sau
hết. Tôi đến, nhưng lại trở về, lòng quặn thắt vì phải nhìn tận mắt
những đau đớn em bé trong sạch như thiên thần đó phải chịu.</font></p>

<font size="4">Ðến sáu giờ, họ lại đến mời tôi, nói rằng có lẽ tôi không
còn đủ thời giờ để gặp em còn sống nữa. Tôi vội vã ra đi..., rồi tôi lại
quay trở lại. Một ý tưởng vừa nảy ra trong đầu óc tôi: phải đem theo một
ảnh vảy Thánh Giuse mới được, Ngài rất quyền thế, Ngài biết tôi luôn
trông cậy ở Ngài. Tôi noi theo ơn soi sáng đó. Tôi vào phòng của em nhỏ,
đưa mẫu ảnh vảy Thánh Giuse cho bà dì của em, bảo bà đeo ảnh vào cổ em:</font></p>

<font size="4">Bà vội vàng quì gối xuống trước ảnh Thánh, vừa khóc vừa
đọc vài kinh cầu nguyện. Bà đứng lên, đeo ảnh vào cổ cháu. Và kìa, như
là em cố gắng nói điều gì, nhưng chẳng ai nghe rõ được. Tôi đọc cho em
nghe một đoạn Phúc Âm, rồi bảo mọi người đọc chung với tôi một kinh Lạy
Cha, một kinh Kính Mừng kính Thánh Cả.</font></p>

Lucien thêm nặng, xấu đi hơn. Em bị ngộp thở. Ðến nửa đêm, gia đình thấy
em động đậy môi. Họ lại gần. Lắng nghe. Phải khó khăn mới nghe được rõ
mấy lời em nói:</font></p>

Gia đình cứ tiếp tục cầu nguyện. Và bỗng nhiên em thức dậy, nói được rõ
ràng, sức lực cũng khỏe hơn trước. Mọi người trong gia đình đều tràn
nước mắt vui mừng. Tạ ơn Thánh Cả Giuse.</font></p>

<font size="4">Sáng hôm sau lúc còn sớm lắm, thầy thuốc đã đến thăm. Ông
kinh ngạc trước cảnh tượng ông thấy. Liền đó, tôi cũng đến. Nét mặt mọi
người đều vui tươi hớn hở. Tôi gặp thấy em đang ngồi trên giường, giữa
những đồ chơi mà em đòi để chơi dỡn. Hôm sau, em đến gặp tôi tại nhà xứ
và nói tôi rằng em rất yêu mến Thánh Cả Giuse. Em chẳng có lý để yêu mến
Thánh Cả đó sao.</font></p>

<font size="4">Từ đó, em mặc đồ xanh lơ, luôn mang trên mình ảnh Thánh
Cả Giuse. Cả vùng đều biết và gọi em là “nhỏ được Thánh Giuse điều trị”.
Em luôn luôn yêu mến Ngài. Ngày Chúa Nhật đi lễ, em thích ngồi dưới bảng
tạ ơn mà cha mẹ em đã gắn vào bàn thờ kính Thánh Giuse trong nhà thờ.</font></p>
