nhận xét tương lai cậu sẽ rạng ngời. Sau này làm linh mục rồi chắc
còn sáng láng nữa. Cậu cũng thấy vậy nên có phần tự tin hơn. Mà hình
như sự tự tin chưa đủ làm hành trang cho cậu. Cậu hay vào nhà hưu
hơn mỗi khi rảnh rang. Không làm gì khác ngoài việc nói chuyện với
cha cố. Có cái gì đó nơi các cha già nói chung và cha bố của cậu nơi
đây cuốn hút lắm. Cậu hay hỏi cha bố về đời tu, về thiên chức linh
mục và đủ thứ linh tinh liên quan đến đời tu mà cậu chợt nghĩ ra mỗi
khi nói chuyện với ngài.</span></font></div>

Cậu nhớ có lần cha nói với cậu đời linh mục là theo Chúa từ phòng
Tiệc Ly đến đồi Gôngôtha. Nên những ai đã lỡ mang trong mình cái ao
ước vinh quang của đời linh mục thì cũng mau chóng nhận ra rằng
chẳng có tương lai nào cho linh mục cả. Ngày tạ ơn Tân Linh Mục bao
nhiêu người ca tụng, chào đón như hứa hẹn một tương lai sáng ngời.
Đời linh mục dẫn dắt biết bao linh hồn về với Chúa, làm biết bao
việc lành phúc đức với hết trách nhiệm và tình yêu của một mục tử.
Ấy vậy mà chỉ một chút gì đó khiến giáo dân không vừa ý thì ngay tức
khắc những tin đồn và trăm ngàn thứ xì-can-đan như cứ dồn dập tứ bề.
Trò làm sao mà hơn thầy, thầy mà còn bị người ta đóng đinh và chết
nhục nhã thì trò làm sao tránh được. Đời linh mục lúc lên voi, khi
xuống chó, có khi xuống dưới bụng chó. Vui đấy, người ta ca tụng
đấy. Nhưng rồi cũng lên thập giá đấy. Cái quan trong không phải là
mình được gì, mất gì nhưng là trung thành, trung thành thật sự,
trung thành đến giây phút cuối con ạ.</span></font></div>
